Listen to podcasts

Turn on skipping back 15 seconds or forward 30 in a podcast or audiobook.

Turn this on, and when a podcast or an audiobook plays, the player’s buttons change to suit it.

Turn it on

  1. Right-click the notch, or click the Warble icon in the menu bar, and choose Settings….
  2. Choose Notch.
  3. Turn on Skip by seconds in podcasts.

Skip back and forward

  1. Hover over the notch, or click it, to open the player.
  2. Click the button with 15 on the left of play to go back 15 seconds, say to hear something again.
  3. Click the button with 30 on the right of play to go forward 30 seconds, say past an advert.

The bar under the episode moves the moment you click. Going back near the start stops at the start, and going forward near the end stops at the end.

Songs keep their previous and next buttons, so music looks the same as before. With the setting off, podcasts keep them too.

Which apps count

Warble shows these buttons for:

  • Podcasts and Books, Apple’s own apps.
  • Any other app that tells your Mac it’s playing a podcast or an audiobook.

A live radio show has no end to move through, so it keeps previous and next.
