Show lyrics

See the line being sung under the notch while a song plays, and more of the lyrics in the player.

Warble can show the words of a song under the notch, one line at a time, in step with the music. It’s off at first.

Turn lyrics on

1. Right-click the notch, or click the Warble icon in the menu bar, and choose Settings….
2. Choose Notch.
3. Turn on Show lyrics under the notch.

The next song you play shows its lyrics in a strip under the notch, a line at a time. Skip back or move through the song and the lyrics follow.

See more of the lyrics

1. Open the player: hover over the notch, or click it.
2. Click the lyrics button, the speech bubble at the bottom right.

The player swaps for the lyrics: the line being sung in white, with the line before it and the next few after it. They move on with the song. To go back to the player, click the lyrics button again. It has a dot under it while the lyrics show.

The button only appears when the song has lyrics. The next time you open the notch, it shows the player.

When there are no lyrics

The strip stays away when there’s nothing to show:

• LRCLIB doesn’t have timed lyrics for the song, or it’s an instrumental.
• The song is paused. The lyrics come back when it plays again.
• It’s a podcast, an audiobook or a live radio stream.
• The song is between lines, such as during a guitar solo.

If you’ve turned on Show a message when the track changes, the new song’s title takes the strip for two seconds, then the lyrics come back.
